A couple of years ago, IKEA announced it would set aside special preferential parking spots for customers who drive hybrid and fuel efficient vehicles. They dubbed it “Green Parking”.

Yesterday, I visited IKEA’s Etobicoke store and parked my mid-sized, relatively fuel-efficient Toyota in a Green Parking spot. I can understand setting aside special parking spots for disabled people, whether it is required by law or not, but discriminating against me because of the car I drive! Sorry, but I won’t stand for it.
